— by Sharon Myers — last modified 06/22/2009

Toronto, Ontario – EnergyCAP, a leader in energy efficiency software developed by Good Steward Software, LLC, and Toronto Community Housing Corporation announce their official launch of EnergyCAP in an effort to promote a culture of conservation.

Offering energy tracking tools and benchmarks to the energy management analysis team, EnergyCAP will serve as a key tool to Measure, Manage and Save. The progress and success of Toronto Housing Corporations’ goals of utility and greenhouse gas reductions will be greatly enhanced by the addition of this software.

EnergyCAP will play an integral role in Toronto Community Housing Corporations’ original Green Plan to reduce 40% of new greenhouse gas emissions by 2020, from year 2000 level. More significantly, the software aligns with its Community Management Plan to improve its communities, better serve tenants and create a healthy and sustainable organization.

“Improving Toronto Community Housing Corporations’ bottom line by managing our energy procurement and use more efficiently, means we will have more money to invest back into our communities and neighborhoods,” states William Sacks, Project Manager, Smart Buildings & Energy Management, Toronto Community Housing Corporation. Gerald Rubenovitch President, EnergyCAP Canada says, “With our product often paying for itself in less than 12 months, this investment will allow funds to be attributed to greater areas of need and facilitate more proactive energy conservation initiatives by identifying the areas requiring attention.”

Encouraging environmental stewardship from tenants and staff, Toronto Community Housing Corporation strongly believes EnergyCAP will lay the foundation for responsible energy consumption at all levels. William Sacks further adds, “Eventually we hope to share EnergyCAP and the new personnel version GreenQuest with our tenants to take the accountability into their own hands, where everyday decisions about turning off lights or opening windows will have a large impact for Toronto Community Housing Corporation as a whole.” GreenQuest is EnergyCAP’s free online energy tracking tool for a home or building, which is sponsored by organizations as a public relations, direct marketing and energy efficiency application.
