End – User License

Pricing for EnergyCAP Enterprise depends on a number of variables. Taken into account is the overall scope of your organization, and the complexity of the license (which optional modules need to be included) and implementation. Typically for end-user licenses that are hosting the database internally, the fees are broken into four separate categories; the one-time license fee, implementation fee, training fee, and an annual maintenance fee that includes upgrades and tech support that begins in the second year. For organizations that elect to have EnergyCAP Canada host their database (Hosted Version) they can either purchase a license outright and pay an annual hosting fee OR pay an annual fee that includes the license and maintenance fee.

Most organizations purchase a perpetual EnergyCAP Enterprise, which means it’s purchased one time and never expires. An annual software license option is also available for organizations that prefer lower up-front fees. 

The EnergyCAP Express license is an annual license, which means it expires at the conclusion of the year and can be renewed for the next year. Typical Express users pay and manage up to 250 bills/month. The cost of a license starts at $995 per year and is based on your number of meters*; Hosting fees are $1,000 per year. Coming in the Fall of 2010 is an all-new, complete Web-based (SaaS) version of EnergyCAP. If you purchase EnergyCAP Express now, you can roll over to the new version hassle-free and at no charge.

* A meter is a point of service as itemized on a utility bill and tracked in EnergyCAP as a meter/logical device. Meters can track any commodity, such as electricity, natural gas, propane, steam, water, chilled water, hot water, steam, oil, butane, coal, and gasoline. Meters also include points of service for which no physical meter exists, such as sewer, refuse, recycling, fire lines, outdoor lighting, fuel oil tanks, storm drainage, ISP, and telephone service or other telecom bills. On consolidated bills, where multiple accounts, meters, or commodities are represented on one bill, each individual meter or commodity will count as a separate meter; all quarterly billed meters are included in the total meter count.

Consultant License (to track third party data)

Pricing for a Consultant license of EnergyCAP is different than for an End-User license. The difference between an End-User and Consultant license is the Consultant license allows the user to track third party data (data from your clients’ buildings) while the End-User license only allows the user to track its own data. Consultants pay an annual fee based on the total number of meters combined in all databases. For high volume users, licenses can be priced on a per bill processed basis. Fees are dependent on the complexity of the database and the optional modules purchased. Contact an EnergyCAP Canada sales representative for pricing information.
